USS Equinox – Better Days

A digital painting of the USS Equinox. The ship is seen from above, as the swirling red/orange energy of an emerging black hole can be seen below the vessel.

The Nova-class USS Equinox was lost in the Delta Quadrant in 2376, following a battle with the USS Voyager. But before getting thrown into uncharted space by the Caretaker, the Equinox performed all kinds of critical scientific experiments, surveys, and missions.

That’s because the Nova-class was designed primarily as a science vessel. This painting imagines Captain Ransom and the Equinox in the days before everything goes horribly wrong–performing vital experiments as a nearby black hole comes into existence.
