I’m not altogether sure what inspired this piece, other than my rather obvious affinity for kittens. I’ve been playing a lot of Dungeons and Dragons lately, so I’m sure that plays a part in the origin of this particular painting. Partly, I’ve been thinking about all the wildlife in the D&D world–how it can’t all be bad, it can’t all be monsters.

So I wanted to show something a little more lighthearted in this particular Dungeons & Dragons art. Rangers must, after all, take time out of their day to play with the wildlife. I mean, why wouldn’t you? Especially when that wildlife looks like kittens.
