There’s that great line in Star Trek: Insurrection: “Can anyone remember when we used to be explorers?” Star Trek, at its heart, is about exploration. Sometimes that means exploring strange new worlds. Sometimes that means exploring the human condition. Often, it’s both. That’s what I love about Trek. And it’s something that I think both Discovery and Picard have done really nicely. So I wanted to showcase the Enterprise-E doing this favorite activity. A Sovereign-class starship, much is made of the […]
I’m not altogether sure what inspired this piece, other than my rather obvious affinity for kittens. I’ve been playing a lot of Dungeons and Dragons lately, so I’m sure that plays a part in the origin of this particular painting. So I wanted to show something a little more lighthearted in this particular Dungeons & Dragons art. Rangers […]
Decepticons, attack!! That’s what I hear in my head when I see this finished painting. Oh, and the music from Transformers: The Movie. Xenomorphs are so much fun to paint. They’ve always been one of my favorite subjects (H.R. Giger certainly knew what he was doing, and everyone else who’s had a hand in evolving the look of the creature since the original Alien film deserves a lot of credit.) So, this piece was definitely inspired by Alien. The corridor has a very Nostromo feel to it. That’s intentional! I hope you like the final look as much as I do.
