The 12th Doctor got off to something of a rocky start. But once Capaldi settled into his role, he was amazing. I don’t know that I can say 12 is my favorite Doctor… but if you backed me into a corner, Capaldi is probably the name I’d choose. Especially in his later seasons, he brought such raw compassion to the role that it was hard not to like.

But he could also tell people shut up, which was nice too.

This particular piece was inspired by my all-time favorite Capaldi moment: his big speech in “The Zygon Inversion.”
